Dear Friends,
We could not be more pleased!
Things Finer has been chosen to be among the few American representatives of the incomparable Rigaud line of home fragrances.
When you light the candle, a sheet of oil covers the surface, releasing the elegant fragrance, it actually lifts the fragrance into the air currents of your home, no remainder, no smoke, just the cleansing festive scent.
Each candle is poured twice, by hand, no bubbles, no waste, just pure fragrance and elegance.
CythËre and CyprËs
History: From the 1820's the House of Rigaud was one of Franceís greatest perfume houses. Following studies in chemistry in his native Auvergne, Jean-Baptiste Rigaud came to Paris in 1852 to experience his passion and reveal the artist within him.
Until the Second World War, the Rigaud family brought the world a collection of exquisite fragrances. Generations of the family perfected the formulas and techniques.
Things Finer will be offering 'Queen of the Night' in time for Valentine's Day.
Viviane Rigaud who came from a family of chemists developed and patented an innovative wax formula. This was an original formula for a soft wax whose main characteristic was that it perfectly revealed the natural ingredients that make up the Rigaud perfumes and allowed them to be faithfully transmitted.
And that is how the CyprËs candle was born, dark green in color, presented in a container of hand-blown glass, tied with a green ribbon and with a silvered metal snuffer cap.
The year was 1950, and the Rigaud CyprËs candle was an international success. The scent of the Rigaud candle soon became the height of chic in well-appointed homes, and even in the White House when Jacqueline Kennedy was First Lady.
Favored by Diana Vreeland, Prince Charles, Frank Sinatra, and those fortunate enough to have access to the marvelous 'Parfum Flamme.' The CyprËs scented candle has now become the universal standard for environmental fragrances. The famous Rigaud candle, with its silver snuffer cap and delicately hand-knotted satin ribbon, was seen on the front pages of all the decorating magazines of the period.
Each scent, developed from natural ingredients, is a true composition, with its top notes, middle notes or 'heart,' and base notes forming a sophisticated olfactory pyramid.
We will be offering the incomparable Rigaud line in several sizes:
Petite Model $38. - 20 hour burn
Medium $65 - 25 hour burn
Grande refillable $90. (refill for Grande is $75) - 50 hour burn
